Okay.
So. Much has happened.
The forums seem to be borked, alot of posts strangely missing. I've tried to root out the cause but no dice on that one.
New add ons coming soon.
Combat system:
---------------------------
-Might add more to the SCIFT system..although I like it honestly the way it is. It just feels like something's missing.
-Better DCD system.
Classes
--------------
-Fighter will be first. For once, they're not getting hosed.
-SCIFT scores determine which class more or less suits you best, and there
are ways to improve on those scores to get into the classes you like.
-Classes are accessible at level 2.
Magic
-------------------
-Started new lists on Earth, Air, and some water magic. Fire might oddly enough be difficult, as its a bit different
trying to come up with new things for fire spells up to Lv 100.
-Magic can be definately more pronounced due to the SCIFT system. A high flow, low spell level mage can
still be both deadly and effective.
-Oddly enough, Earth Mages will probably be the handiest. They're usually the ones that get hosed in most
RPGS..while the Fire mages are problematic, and yet usually get the heavier dose of abilities. The universe loves
irony.
-Just finished a full list of summons today. Levels 1-50 will be minor summons. It means a basic summon
that's skills vary depending on the character's flow. (Or options to use, rather). Levels 51-100 are the same
summons as levels 1-50...BUT they are *Major* summons. This means actually summoning them to fight
alongside you in battle, rather than just quick in..hit..then poof. Also, the creature summoned can differ depending on
the flow. So..a base flow mage might summon a Frog Knight..while a higher one might summon a more advanced version
that's dual wielding greatswords. Just an example.
CASH SHOP
---------------------
-There are some that are going to like it, and some that are going to hate it, i'm sure. The main reason is to
create a support belt not just myself, but for future and related projects. If I want to improve on the site, or update
it past a certain point..add fancy graphics, flash animations, space for such..etc...make games..its going to require
cash.
-The idea is to make something that is still free to play, while keeping in perks and one-type bonuses that can
make it fun for those who do want to pay. Kind of a weird sort of balance. I'm keeping this in mind as a test phase, and
if it doesn't work..then its scrapped.
-This will included Fate Points, Tokens (For lotteries of certain kinds) and reduced costs, etc towards R&D as well as
construction with guild buildings/techs. These can also go to buy keys for strange and out of the way chests that might
drop during random events, SLs,etc.
-FPs, tokens, etc will also occasionally be given out as rewards, challenge rewards, or contest prizes. That way everyone has
some chance to get them, whether you have cash or not. No one should be left out of the fun, and I'm hoping this can be achieved in that manner.
-There might be tie-ins and discounts towards purchase of FP,Tokens, etc granted from the purchase of certain items from
affiliates. (Books, CDs,etc) Again, solving a challenge can earn you some pretty good rewards too..equivalent to what would
seem like a good value pertaining to the level of difficulty in the challenge. At least one i've labeled as "Any one free." Which means any single item/perk purchasable for FP or Tokens. Expect those to be hard, heh.
-Certain veteran players that have helped in the past will recieve some FP and a certain amount of the "VIP status" perk
as thanks. Still working on this one.
QUEST
--------------------
-NC or C? NC means Non-Canon, which means that you do not keep anything earned from the quest. It should be
a fairly short quest..and earns the same amount as per a mass spar. Players that die are eliminated from the quest
until revived, but are not considered dead, nor are any rezzes lost. Items used from the regular inventory are also not
permanently lost.In this manner, procs can get practice being a GM, earn towards becoming an official one...and get
a feel for making their own stories. Players themselves can get the hang of the quest system and working more as
a team without the constant stress of whether they will die or not. So...yes, you only get experience..but at the same time,
the environment is alot more relaxed and you can get some practice in.
-Canon (C) SLs are considered part of the story. You can gain from them as normal, but you can also die in them too.
They're your usual SLs.
-NCSL = Non Canon Storyline, and CSL = Canon Storyline. Make sure you know which one you're signing up for before you go.
Other news
------------------
-Undead faction coming to the RP, related to a plot angle from the Windia 2.0 days.
-Factions are choosable at level 2.
-Characters start at level 0, and after a series of quests (straightforward progression) reach level 1. From there
they enter the Academy, which will be explained both in the Lore and the Story elements on the site. They "graduate"
when they reach level 2, and at this point they get some starting items..choose a faction and a class, and their own
personal story begins.
-One of the first *contests* will be a promotional advertisement in the medium of your choice. 1st place: 100 FP.
2nd place: 75 FP, 3rd place: 50 FP, 4th place: 25 FP, 5th place: 10 FP. More details after the site is actually put together to promote. But something to look forward to.
That's all for now. Just some of what's on my mind. ALOT of questions will be (hopefully) answered.
