Chaotic Dreams

Roleplaying, Gaming, and more! (formerly known as the Windia RPG.)

Type your title here.

There are 4 types of Offensive Combat. (DCD, Psionic, Magical, Skill)

DCD deals with regular physical attacks or physical attacks using a weapon.

Psionic offenses deal with the power of the mind used to damage or incapacitate..or even lift objects to use as weapons against your foes.

Magical offenses can be devastating...and some of them can be charged or Magic Power added to the spell for even greater result.

Skills..damage dealing attacks..sometimes the part of a style in the case of a martial artist or character versed in such. Other times it is a particular type of attack with greater force over training time, as well as the occasional status effect.

Dice Chart Damage attacks (DCD)

Your very basic attack. You move up to hit, kick, bite, etc towards a foe.

Notes on how this is used:

 Description: What the attack is.
Enhancers: What kind of weapons are counted with this attack.

Defense Against: What kind of defense rolls you can use to stop or reverse the attack.

Half-Max Effect: Half max is a roll of all totals, half of the max. (d20 range is actually 18-19,though, to keep things from going insane.) This is the added effect whenever such occurs.
 Critical Hit:A critical hit occurs whenever you roll a dice and get the max on all dice totals. (20 on a 1d20, 2 20's on a 2d20, a 50 on a 1d50 (Defenses,usually) and a 100 on a d100 (Skills/Psi)
Critical Miss: A critical miss is a 1-2 on a DCD roll, all totals, or a 1-4 on a skill or defense roll. You usually want to avoid these, because that means something bad may happen as a result. You've ROYALLY messed up, in other words.
Actions Used: This is the "Action System", so you really won't have to worry about this unless you're using Spar Systems IV or higher, as well as questing. The number of actions you have to expend to use the skill or attack in question.
SP Cost: Used in Spar Systems II or higher. SP is Stamina points, usually required for physical tasks such as pushing things, or swinging around weapons..or using skills or Psi. This, naturally, is the amount of SP used to do those aforementioned things.

Terms

SVE:Severing Effect. This is the result of an edged weapon like a sword slicing into a body part, hence cutting it off of the body. Unless you have some form of regeneration, these do not grow back.

BBE: Broken bones effect. This is the result of impact of a physical attack or blunt weapon, like a hammer. These heal over time, usually.

Freeshot:Costs nothing, can only be dodged, no bonuses apply, and can only be a DCD attack. Usually the result of a critical hit, or if used on you because you critical missed an attack.

Dazed: Like a status attack but not a status attack. You're basically a bit disoriented and don't know where you are. You can't move for that round. At the start of your next turn, you roll dodge, to see if you can move again. Basically, a woozy sitting duck until you can make the saving roll.

For defense against notes: (As to what in the heck they are) See the Defensive combat section for details.

For actions: We have a very short section on those too. :)

Important note: To make it alot easier on yourself, use this as a situational guide. If the attack in question is a hammer, see the Blunt DCD. If its a blade...ignore all the others and go to Edged DCD. No weapons? Just a beginner? Then just relax and focus on the Hand to Hand DCD which the very first option anyway.

Hand to Hand DCD
